Today, after a brief hiatus from coin roll hunting due to the financial austerity which inevitably comes after Christmas, I decided to go to one of my local pickup banks to see what I could see. I went to my regular teller and inquired whether there was anything interesting as well as my usual penny pickup. She said she had "a bunch of beat up looking old dimes" and was I interested in taking a look? Sure, why not I said, trying to hide my growing anticipation.

When she brought them out I could immediately recognize the high silver content. Each roll had at least one silver on the end and judging by the side profile there was lots more where that came from. Trying as hard as I could to stay cool I said "sure, I'll take them". By this time I had had an actual heart palpitation. This was unreal. The last time I came this close to a major silver score, it was snatched from beneath my nose. I would not repeat the last mistake. After what seemed like an eternity of small talk and picking up a few Canadian Province series quarters, I had the booty in my hand. Could this be real?

Upon returning home, I went straight to work. Out of five rolls of dimes, I found $16.60 face value in silver dimes, including a US merc. Dates range from 1916 to 1968. Hope there may be rarities but I'm just basking in the afterglow of what may be the best silver score I'll ever experience.

The only thing left is, now that this has happened, can CRH'ing ever be fun again?

THATS AWESOME!, I can even see some pre 1937 and a merc!
Congrats and I think the answer to your question will coin rolling ever be fun again? Is YES! This find is just proof that's there's not only good stuff out there but GREAT STUFF OUT THERE STILL TO BE HAD!
Congratulations, I wish I coin roll hunted, I've gotten quite a bit of silver in change before.
Feel free to call me Will.

Very nice!

I have boxes of pennies to go through still, best I have found was 7 full rolls of pennies dates ranging from the 30's-50's. Nothing close to your score, but still exciting!

I think CRH is always going to be fun, even if you turn up zilch.

It's the fact that you did it is what counts.

Amazing find! I've only ever gotten 2-3 silver dimes and some silver quarters before. Although, as far as rarities, there aren't any to be found in Canadian Silver dimes of that era unless you've got a 1913, Broad Leaves or 1936 Bar variety.
