AU55? I don't know these coppers that well, but know the "WE" is the first thing to wear, and it is often weakly struck. I can't tell if your coin has some rub on the WE or if that is just the strike. I'm being pretty conservative because I don't have my grading books handy. Also...is that corrosion or dirt on the obverse? It doesn't really look like verdigris in the photos, but obviously something is going on there.

Very nice coin...is there any luster left?

Congratulaions.

I would give it an AU50 and I would suspect an old cleaning.
The arrows are flat and the horizontal lines in the shield are worn. the leaves on the left are not well defined.
On the rev the ribbon is worn. the 2 looks to be doubled slightly as does the U in united.
Nice coin 68's are not easy to find in higher grades.
Rest in Peace

I'd actually give it an EF-AU. Some of the lines on the leaves appear to be worn down a bit, and as others said, the shield is a bit worn.

Thanks for your opinions!
I was hesitating between XF and AU. There is some hard dirt on it.
I can't see any luster and there are n hairlines due to cleaning.
