I went to the LCS today but stopped at the gas station next door to get a snack first. In my change, I got a cent, but not any old cent. It was a Wheat cent. And not any old Wheat cent. It was a 1924. And not any old 1924. I noticed the SLIGHTEST hint of a mint mark (barely visible in the pic, but there), so when I went into the LCS I asked the dealer to look at it under one of his nice microscopes. He said yep, looks like a D. That's a hole filler for my second Lincoln Cent album. Here's a pic of the front (scanner is being difficult so no pic of back at this time).
EDIT - got the reverse scanned and added the pic. This cent has seen its share of work, but is now retired.

It is a rare finding. But the coin seems to be corroded.

Oh yeah, the coin is definitely worn and abused, but I'll still take it. Makes me wonder where it's been all these years to get it into such rough shape.

Nice find! Maybe should have went back over and bought up his pennies? What if some kid bought candy there with a collection, or something? HMMM... but, congrats!

Remarkable. I must have gone through 50 bags as a kid (before LMCs) and never found one in any condition!
