The coin is pretty well worn, but it looks like the 1888/7.

It's not easy to find centavos of this era in better than heavily circulated condition. This one actually looks better than many in my collection. It sure looks like the overdate - the ones digit 8 seems to be squared off on the upper right and the loops of the 8 look filled in. Very nice coin.

Thanks I'm finding quite a few varieties in my Mexico coins - this one, the one I posted previously with the heavily repunched legends, a couple of 1972/2's, wide and narrow dates, etc.

Wow--how did I miss an overdate post? Oh right--SUPER BOWL!

The pointed "ears" on the top of the 8 are diagnostic for many 8/7. Do I also see a downstroke of the 7 in the lower loop? Based on what I see--high confidence in 1888/7.

I have included a pic of the Mexico 1c 1888/7 in high grade in this overdate montage:
