Egyptian 20 Piastres Error Or Not ?

EgCollector Pillar of the Community Egypt 3470 Posts	Posted 07/10/2007 05:18 am I dont know much about errors but I found this 20 piastres and when comparing with an UNC one that I have I think there is a difference in the denomination (number 2 is not struck completely). Image: error 20 piasters.jpg 25.25 KB Is this considered an error? Is ther a name or term for that error? If so does it affect the coin value (increase/decrease)? I have no idea what it would do to the value; that depends on how common such errors are, which in turn depends on how good the quality control at the Egyptian Mint is. If you've seen lots of these coins and this is the first time you've noticed one, it may well be a fairly scarce error; but how much more valuable it is depends largely on demand - in other words, on how popular error collecting is in Egypt.
