I saw this coin advertised as a rare error ms+++. I contacted the seller and informed him that this looks like a Dryer Coin and it is nowhere near an MS grade.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-Canadi...p=true&rt=nc

He informed me that /I had no idea what I was talking about and not to message him if I was going to be rude. According to the seller, they know what a Dryer Coin is and there is no way that this is one.

With a starting price of $120 USD, I figured that nobody would bid on this coin, and simply left it on my watch list to see if it gets relisted. Unfortunately for someone, they bought it.

SOOOOOO, what does everybody think of this coin? Is it indeed a Dryer Coin?

Its either a Dryer Coin or one made by spooning the rim/edge. Since the edge is flat and not round, I am leaning toward Dryer Coin.

Probably to be more fun this maybe A washer coin "rim rolling" on a vertical coin under water, typically shows this pattern. Edges can come out almost flat and parallel, both obverse and reverse rim equal and looking like each other. Showing almost no damage to field.
if allowed to continue? ....they start to look like a barrel, with coin at center! A dryer can due this if coins stay upright not very likely! but sometimes the plastic support webbing in a dryer vane can get them started.
So it is a rare PMD error
