Hi..just like the post I put in a while ago showing that after certain years the word "Canada" was shifted slightly..Now I have noticed the same thing with dimes...2009 and later dimes have the middle "A" of Canada pointing to a denticles..while 2008 and earlier dimes have the middle "A" of Canada pointing between the denticles...not earth shattering, but interesting....

Dimes-Have-

2008 dime..."A" points between denticles

Dimes-Have-

2009 dimes..."A" points at denticles.

Good eye wert!
A change in the position of denticles or beads relative to the legend indicates a new matrix.
You can spot a few differences between those two reverses.
Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere.

Are your lines straight?
I think maybe the beads are just getting larger and more pronounced. Beads on dimes from 2004-5ish to about 2012 have problems showing up correctly, especially around the 4 o'clock area. This could be their attempt to address that problem. Good eye.

The line isn't positioned properly on the 2008 IMO...

wert's lines may not be straight but he is onto something, since he got me looking I can spot at least four differences between the old reverse and the new reverse.

The 5cent and 1cent also received modified reverses for 2009.

The beads on the 2009 are much larger and rounder, reminiscent of frosted coins and I also think the line in the 2008 picture is a little off, but both coins do have a definite size difference in the letters, almost like the thick and thin descriptions. Changes definitely have been made. Good Eye!
