whenever bills show up with funky colors, the culprit is always a chemical additive introduced outside of the bep. before now, the target has usually been the treasury seals...turning them either orange or yellow.
the seller claims the green ink was "forgotten", but if this was truly the case, the note would either be: a) blank,(missing first printing error); or b) faded green, (insufficient ink error). I would stay away.

looks like a North African Note dated 1935 They did not show the obverse pics so no I do not believe it is is rare but it is worth alittle more than the average silver certificate

north african notes are normal-colored, and are missing the motto "in God we trust" on the reverse. the e-bay listing doesn't mention anything about year, series, or any other important information, (red flags). the seller also doesn't have experience in paper money, and protects herself with a question mark after the word "error" in the title, (more red flags). if you squint close enough, you can sorta make out the reverse motto: in my opinion, the seller is offering a normal dollar bill with an altered reverse. whoever the buyer is will be in for a rude awakening if he takes it to a dealer. the only u.s. banknotes with orange backs are large-sized gold certificates, and the $100,000 gold note. it's impossible for these "funky colored" e-bay errors to have been produced at the mint. bleached red seals/serials:

wow!! Those are really beautiful notes! How did you get your hands on them? I would like to ask you how much you would like to sell it for, even though I can't afford them lol! I still dont get how people can get their hands on error notes and the star notes. Got any tips for me? Vince

thanks again! unfortunately, I've only been able to acquire them through purchase. finding errors through circulation is possible but slim, and even slimmer for the older notes. the bep's quality control is a lot better nowadays, so much so that errors that appeared quite often in the past have yet to show up on the new colorized notes. some star notes are impossible to find in circulation too. the 2004A $10 note from atlanta has a total population less than 9600. they were released only in uncut sheets. the lucky ones bought them cheaply from the mint, cut them up, and sold them individually at great profit. other star notes are a lot more abundant, and only command a slight premium over face value. as far as tips, I recommend studying the types of notes that interest you. read books on errors, how they are made, and how rare each type is. learn about star notes, printing numbers, scarce series. when you know more about what you're looking for, you'll be able to spot excellent deals when you find one. as for me, I'm more of a collector than a seller/investor. i'll be holding on to my notes for a long time yet. and I'm still learning new things every day.

sorry, I don't know anything about investing. I'm too busy obsessing...err collecting. one thing's for sure, don't fall for the hooey that's all over e-bay about investing in iraqi dinars. the only people who make money off dinars are the dealers selling them. also, don't fall for anything hyped as "mystery lots" or anything that might promise 1 in so-and-so buyers gets gold coin. it's all fake, nothing is unsearched, and the only people who find valuable stuff in hyped auctions are the sellers friends/fake accounts that leave feedback. goes back to the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true...
