It is a quarter struck on a planchette intended for a penny, very rare and a desirable error.

I'm not sure as far as value goes so I suggest starting another topic called"2000 quarter struck on cent planchet, value help please?" That should attract the attention of the some people with more info for you and you should get a value sooner.

Treat that thing nicely, it should be worth quite a lot I think. That's a VERY desirable coin for error collectors.

To get the best money PCGS or NGC in the US but very costly to slab one coin, CCCS in Quebec will slab an error coin in Canada, but have little appeal in the US.

a 2000 penny weighs 2.35 grams, if this coins weight is way off the 2.35 g then its on a foreign planchet and generally worth less. Go to a jeweller or Canada post outlet, they will have an accurate scale
