What kind of type sets does everyone collect besides the 7070?

A Typeset is what you call it. The 7070 is a popular format because it makes sense and has a nice album to support it (or, it did....) but in the end analysis it's up to the collector to define what a "typeset" is. You could create a "typeset" within the confines of one denomination. That's the beauty of numismatics - there's a whole lot of room for varying definitions of its' terms.

I have a type set of silver 5 cents Canadian. No need to have every date. I have 1901, 1910, 1911, 1920 that's all I plan on having.

I put together a 7070 a few years ago and it was a fun project. However, I wasn't very particular about the quality of the coins. I am currently working on the same set but with PCGS/NGC slabs only. Once it's complete it will make it so much easier to upgrade as I see better coins!

Only one I have is a so called 20th Century set in a plastic sheet looking thing. Not sure who made the holder and I really don't have much interest in type sets so it just sits. They are sort of fun for a while, but for me they get a bit boring. To each their own.

I am four coins away from finishing a Whitman 20th century type coin folder. I'm putting it together with circulated, low dollar VG coins so when people ask me about coin collecting I can show them a set that is both interesting and affordable. It seems to interest the non collector more than a set with the same denomination. Hopefully it will help spark someone's interest in collecting.

I have two type sets. I am eleven coins away from a full Whitman bookshelf type set from the late 60's. (That is the BIG one with all the 18th century types and all the subtypes, something like 111 coins) And I am two coins away from a 20th century type set all in proof except for those issues that really don't come in proof like the SLQ, The Peace dollar, and the steel cent. Those that aren't proof are MS. I still need the Barber quarter and half dollar.

Well, I'm assembling a world type set 1900-date.Main focus is in coins of the western civilization and circulation coinage only. I have about 2300 different coin types so far and few countries are almost finished. I guess the Finnish type set (1864-date) is most completed as just couple of gold issues are missing.

Well I collect types of 2¢ pieces by die pairings and weird or unusual errors. Now I'm getting into Cohen variety Half Cents, Sheldon Large cents, Newcomb Half Cents and all types of US Numismatic books.
