Im building my collection nicely. Heres the coins in the currect collection, if anyone can think of any others, let me know. I may have missed pretty major points here.

Im going for all the Usurpers who did not eventually take the purple. I'm also including rebels, occasionally those who rebel against Usurpers to restore Roman rule. At the moment, I'm going for the Gallic Empire onwards, with a few earlier.

In red = On the lookout
In maroon = Unlikely to acquire
In Orange = Needs upgrading
In Green = Happy with the current example

THE PALMYRENE EMPIRE
Vaballathus
Zenobia

THE GALLIC EMPIRE
Postumus
Laelianus
Aureolus
Marius
Victorinus
Tetricus
Domitianus
Tetricus II

THE BRITANNIC EMPIRE
Carausius
Carausius for Maximian

Carausius for Diocletian (missed one the other day)
Allectus

Vetranio (also missed one the other day)

Vetranio for Constantius II

Constantius Gallus using design of Vetranio

Nepotianus

Magnentius**
Poemenius** (working on it)
Decentius**

**I currently have coins of Magnentius and Decentius which are adequate, but Poemenius is thought to have issued only the large Chi-rho folles - perhaps not even those - so id like to go for them.

Procopius

Magnus Maximus
Flavius Victor

Johannes and other Really Late Usurpers

Zenonis

I think my Gallic empire set will not be progressing further than it currently is (Im looking out for a cheap postumus, my nicest bust for him is on a clipped flan, though it is a nice green colour).

I also need to sort a storage solution to keep the coins together, but easily viewable. Perhaps in airtites on stands, maybe an acrylic holder.

Pictures:

THE GALLIC EMPIRE:
From the top left: POSTVMVS, AVREOLVS for Postumus, MARIVS' bust on an antonianus of Victorinus, VICTORINVS, TETRICVS, TETRICVS II. Also not the gradient from green to bronze.

Quietus and Macrianus Minor might be worth adding to your list. Not sure if Macrianus Major produced any coins, don't think so

These coins are rare but findable, once saw a Macrianus Minor sell for £30.

some more- Domitius Domitianus (A.D. 296- 298) Alexander of Carthage (A.D. 308- 310) Eugenius (A.D. 392- 394)

edit- I forgot all about arguably the most famous usurper- Maxentius.

Macrianus and Co are coins I'm looking out for but I dont hold much hope of getting them, hence the cutoff at the Gallic empire (Macrianus being the previous major usurper).

Eugenius is a good one I missed but I have to say I havent heard of Alexander of Carthage further than vague recollections of an Alexander II being mentioned in the literature, so ill look him up.

Maxentius was a very big force as a Usurper, but I havent included him as he was firmly established and accepted as emperor (as far as I'm concerned), so doesn't fit into this collection. When the set it near completion ill be adding all the emperors who began with usurption.
