Hi everyone I recently inherited a bunch of coins. So I am a newbie to all this but I have found myself reading and learning for hours and hours and find coins quite amazing. What do you think this will grade. Thanks

Since I'm new at this I'm going to say AU53. Only one way to learn.

This is a Strong VF Coin. When I grade Morgans the first thing I look at is how much detail is left in the hair on the forehead and the curls on the lower right of the obverse. On the Reverse, I look at the wear on the Eagles breast and the wingtips. If there is considerable detail missing from those areas it's probably a VF coin. In order for it to make an AU Grade some luster has to be present, I don't see any but it may just be the pic. I'm not thrilled with the way the denticles and rim look on the bottom of the reverse. I would throw this one on a scale just to be safe.. it should weigh right around 26.73 grams and NOT stick to a magnet.

Thanks BRC the eagles breast was definitely what I was looking at as for the most wear. Thanks for pointing out the other areas. I have a couple more to look over so this will help.
