Received the 2014 silver lucky loonie in the mail yesterday. Although I was very disappointed that the mint decided to reuse the 2012 design, the reverse proof finish looks great.

What do you think?

The reverse proof finish on this coin looks a bit more like matt proof to me, it is different than the reverse proof finish on say, the 2014 SML Fractional Set. Still nice looking, just different.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this coin.
Its amazing how a different finish can transform a coin.

Strange, if it wasn't for Barriecarson's posting, I would have always thought the finish on the 2014 lucky loonie was the same as the 2012 version.
From CC-Ottawa's beautiful picture, the reverse proof finish gives the impression of a wintery theme befitting the winter Olympics.

Alright! Way to go! Woo Hoo! YESSSS!

Received my Lucky Loonie today just in time to help the Canadian women win gold medals in Curling and Hockey!

P.S. CC-Ottawa was right. The coin has a different finish from the 2012 version and it looks great.

P.P.S. Now I'm hoping the good luck will rub off on Syd & Company tomorrow in the semi-final...

Hey folks!

I'm counting on the Lucky Loonie to come through with a gold medal for TEAM CANADA tomorrow!

However, if the Swedes win, we should all sue the mint (except you Americans and sw3dish ch3f)

Congratulations to all the Canadian athletes fro putting in a fantastic effort in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games!

The other competitors weren't too shabby either.

Thanks as well to the Lucky Loonie for contributing to a memorable Olympics.

I would like to join the congratulations!!

Just for some reason, started to think, that international competitions of such level, years ago became "politics" only and all the results and medals divided ahead.
Actually I like this "conspiracy theory".
