Looks to be silver instead of fouree but hard to tell from photo.The reverse has more wear and I do not see any bronze showing which is a good sign.

I don't think it's a coin 'of the period', I would call that out as a cast. The beads on the reverse have no detail at all and I think the front shows air pockets?
Would be a nice coin though.
You will never soar like an eagle if you hang around with turkeys.....

Okay so the consensus is that it is not a fouree but a cast coin ?

I don't think it's cast, IMO it looks like a genuine struck coin though I would like to know what the size and weight is.

To my knowlage it looks like an early issue , like 222 AD . When do you guys think that denarius was issued.

Could be anything, where has this coin been for the last thousand plus years?

Dont worry about it, it doesn't detract from it at all. Very nice coin.
