Have a look, there are many die chips/dots all over this coin. Some even look like indentations. Look on left leaf, above the last "A" of Canada, on the obeverse, allover the Queen's chin. Can anyone explain what may have happened?

I came across some like that a few months back, mind you nowhere near as many as what this penny has. They seemed on these to be gas bubbles, not sure about whats on this coin, perhaps the same?

Some are raised dots, no question about those. The "pits", are the mystery. I'll look around a bit more when I have some time. Thanks
