Dont own any but ANACS is slabbing NORFED dollars even though the Secret Service has told ebay to pull any listing for them.

ICG is the hands down winner for reputable companies slabbing anything though. Ssuperdave pointed out a thread a while back about how they will slab anything short of a wooden nickel and heres one of the pictures of the absurd things that got slabbed in that thread.

Interesting. I have a very nice Proof 2oz round that I think will slab PR-69 or 70. Do you think ICG will slab it?, I don't have anything ridiculous, just a NNC holder that has a fake Trade dollar graded as a real genuine MS66 (I got it for $3 at a show and thought it made a neat showpiece).

I dont think it is shocking that companies are slabbing strange items. They are a business. You pay them for a service and they will be happy to provide. What is shocking is that people are paying them to have these items slabbed in the first place.

I've seen cut-down souvenir cards slabbed and later misrepresented as "proofs" for gullible buyers. But this is the only time I've seen an entire card slabbed. Since it isn't actually graded, this may have been a gimmick to show how large an item the TPG could encase (the card is about 9x6").

They can do larger items than that. I've seen full sheets of obsolete currency slabbed by PNG.

Does anyone remember a scam back in the day with slabs from PCC Premier Certified Coins? If I recall it was some guys in NYC buying mint and proof sets and their own slabs? Grading their own and selling on ebay until ebay cut them off? I still have a few with excellent coins in there but I thought I remembered these guys getting caught. Would their '77 25c PF70 be worth cracking?
