a true stellar monster graded ngc ms66* star by NGC and all there and then some toned in a mint set as such by the crinkly cellophane toning you see on both the obverse and reverse In my opinion full bell line but NGC is way tougher on the FBL designation than PCGS In hand, the colors are just like this photo with killer lustre and you usually do not see colors like this on early s mint Franklins Now on franklins in mint sets after 55 they are really much more available with great color not as great as this 54s Franklin though Edited by michael 07/12/2007 04:35 am

Michael, You are correct that NGC is more stringent on Franklin FBL designation. They require both upper and lower sets of lines be distinct and unbroken. Your 54-S upper lines definitely fade toward the center and the lower lines are just shy of FBL. That said, it's still a GORGEOUS Franklin. Congrats.

Now that is an AWESOME frankie. Do you have any plans to cross it to PCGS to get the FBL designation?

Michael, Tell me you are not going to get it reslabbed for an FBL! That star means a lot and you probably won't get an FBL from PCGS either.
