I haven't talked much about ebay so I think I'm not breaking any rules but forgive me if misinterpreted any.

So many of you know I sell penny albums ebay. I did a search today to see what other related items have sold recently and for how much. I came across this seller and his penny collection.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/25144812637....m1438.l2649

I thought it was a nice looking set so I asked him...

Dear odovdo123,

"Are the coins in your albums mint state all the way back to the mid 50s as advertised in your photo?"

- samsnate

In which he responded..

Dear samsnate,

"Are the photos you use to sell the item #251434285491 stock photos or photos of the real item you're selling?"

- odovdo123

An odd question since e knows the answer by reading my listing...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/25143428549....m1555.l2649

Obviously to me his response kind of gave me my answer but tried to calm things down. I responded...

Dear odovdo123,

"It is a stock photo as stated in my listing and every album comes with the same quality of coin that is in the picture. Every customers album will look like the one in the photo but will not be the exact coin...as per also stated in my listing. I assume yours is as well? I ask because of your price point. Good for for getting that price and if those are the coins they are getting then for sure well deserved."

- samsnate

So I answer his question as professional and correct as I could an even tried to complement him on his album if they in fact were like he photos.

He responded....

Dear samsnate,

Only one thing matters to me here: if you want to ask a question as seller to another seller, don't try to make him think that you're a simple buyer. It's dishonest and an experienced seller like me won't be caught so easily...

Oh, one last thing: the reason why you sell at a better price than me is because you don't put the more expensive varieties of small cents in your albums. The beginners won't make the difference, but when they'll try to get these extra coins individually, they'll find out that, in the end, your sets will have cost them more than mine. So, you definitely do not have any lesson to teach me about honesty...

Thanks not to answer this mail, I've lost enough time with you.

- odovdo123

I did respond to say sorry about any misunderstanding and that was just curious and that he didn't need to attack me.. all he had to say was....

Dear samsnate,

"I've put your last mail directly in the trash without reading it. If you try to reach me again I will report you to ebay for harassment. Those email boxes are made to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers, not to permit to sellers who don't like competetion to harass other sellers...

That's my first and last warning."

- odovdo123

Now really, I don't care about the conversation part of things but to post pictures of something that a buyer will not receive I think is wrong. And to not say anything in the description I think I very shifty. Do I report it as being misleading or misrepresenting to ebay or just let it go?

Thanks all

He seems like the type of fellow I'd want to avoid doing business with.

The way he responded to his one negative feedback really rubs me the wrong way too. I'll stay away.

Well, I don't know how he could have took your messages as harassing. I see a negative feedback coming his way when that sells. I guess this would be a reason for people to have one account to buy on and another for selling.

Well that's the thing...he has sold a few and no neg feedback yet. He's been selling them as far back as October and only 4 feedback since then. I have 20 bucks that says he's sold many more in that time and with most people being passive just didn't leave feedback rather than leave neg. Its just not right to post a pic with MS coins in it and then not produce. Someone ask him to see a pic of the actual album and coins they will receive. Considering he never did give my a straight up answer...kinda don't want to start something unless I know he is not being honest.

Id go ahead and block him before he really gets angry and goes on a rampage on your listings.

Hello,

Nice looking set! I was just curious if you had pictures of the exact coins I will receive if I purchased this listing.

Thanks

You won't be able to buy it anyway, I've decided to block samsnate and all his friends... Unless YOU are the same guy or someone of the same family? Maybe I should ask ebay, they have your real name and address, after all... That's a good idea! Yes, that's what I'll do right away!

Because I have you as a saved seller I guess? Seems like he has stuff to hide. Any ideas how I should proceed?

Just add him to your blocked list and be done with it. Everyone probably should at this point as he probably has seen this. But really youre just wasting time trying to report it. Hed just relist everything even if removed which would be unlikely.

Hes clearly got some issues since simple questions set him off.

I did thoroughly enjoy his inflated self image of "experienced seller like me" and how he acted like he was too busy to be able to deal with you.

But really its not worth the time to deal with people like that. Everyone else is free to make their own decisions and hes covered himself enough that anything being done is questionable at best for a policy violation.

...good, I'm not concerned that he is. Amazing how some people can take a simple question and take it as a personal attack. A simple yes or no would have been fine from the beginning. I was not going to interfere. I even stayed calm and professional while he slandered me.

Ya I liked that part too.. like nothing else compares to him . What a joke. I also liked his rare expensive varieties that made his albums better than mine. Could add all those at a cost of a buck to me . What a very special individual. But everyone has a right their opinion and if he wants to think he's the cats meow then let him. Too bad he couldn't just be an adult about things...you know..being so experienced of all almost 4 years and all.

If he is reading this... stop being shifty and let your customers know what they are actually getting. You're being misleading and deceitful and its not right. Show them what they are paying for. Not just a picture of what a lot of pretty pennies look like. MAN UP!

The listing has "ended" hope he ended it to make some revisions. If he did... good on him. The right thing to do.

wow..

I've found that most times people who respond in this manner or immediately go on the defensive and start making threats have something to hide/lose.. and threatening to ban all your friends and family is even more over the top. And he thinks ebay will have all needed info for that? Did you register your friends and family list with them, samsnate? Fascinating

He may even make an account to yell at you here instead of ebay.
