I am not affiliated with The Paterson Collection or Great Collections but wanted to share these for your viewing pleasure.

I don't know who Paterson is but they had one heck of a collection. Add up the bids with a week left and you'll have more money than I've earned in a lifetime!

the 1794 Large cent in AU and the 1793 capped liberty large cent with wreath are simply amazing, some of the mid grade proof Seated coinage looks quite nice, very contrasty and nice for PR63 grades. The gold I didn't really look at but saw a few outstanding pieces perusing the thumbnails, like the 1907 wire edge saint, 1908 saint and 1795 eagle. Saw a note about this auction on one of my coin daily e-links but had not looked at the auction yet, glad I did! Will be interesting to see where some of these end up, considering the huge sales that just happened at FUN and Long Beach over the past couple of weeks. The Market has been absolutely flooded with top notch new material, yet the prices are still holding strong it seems 9for the top end coins anyways).

How are people able to collect such collections as those. He would need to of been alive for 200 years to get those coins in the condition they were in. The weird part about it is that he had stuff from the 1940`s and 50`s as well. I guess one of his ancestors must have started it.

That collection was so nice it probably involved a "cover charge".
