Think I'm a little behind the times. Just discovered Teletrade closed up shop. I knew they couldn't survive on once a week auction. Didn't go there much since they did away with the Tuesday no-reserve auction. Got a lot of nice coins without buyers fees on those Tuesdays. Did they merge with Stack and Bowers or just shut down.

Get back to me whenever.

I think it was more of a buy out situation than a merger but either way the end result was the same of Stacks absorbing them and another company.

It took a couple of weeks, but the redirects and historical information is now available through S-B. The bit that our old TT accounts would convert over seems to have been overly optimistic.

BTW, Spectrum owns 80% of CA based A-Mark Precious Metals. They own 51% of S-B (Bowers & Merena must own the other 49%).

I believe Teletrade's big issue was when the previous President Ian Russell, jumped ship in 2010 and opened up a competing company "Great Collections" seemed TT just couldn't survive without his direction and guidance. Interesting that Ian once was President of Bowers Galleries too, another division of Spectrum Group.

Great Collections - as far as I understand, is their own company at this time.

I just bought a few Merc's from Great Collections. He is Really pushing a lot of good stuff on ebay. No buyers fee either. What happened to my 646 points I accumulated on Teletrade? Down the drain I guess.
