1846 Large Cent Reverse Strike Error?

Bass New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 02/11/2014 8:02 pm I picked this coin up a while ago and wanted to know if anyone could tell me more about it. It appears to be an 1846 Large cent. The obverse has an irregular strike dated 1846, while the reverse has the matron head, the coins poor condition and weak strike make me unable to read the date. What are your thoughts on this coin? Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 02/13/2014 10:24 am It doesn't appear you posted a picture of the other side but what I am seeing looks like some one put an 1846 large cent on either a planchet or another large cent and then hammered them together to create a fake brockage.
