I picked this coin up a while ago and wanted to know if anyone could tell me more about it. It appears to be an 1846 Large cent. The obverse has an irregular strike dated 1846, while the reverse has the matron head, the coins poor condition and weak strike make me unable to read the date. What are your thoughts on this coin?

It doesn't appear you posted a picture of the other side but what I am seeing looks like some one put an 1846 large cent on either a planchet or another large cent and then hammered them together to create a fake brockage.

however to give us a better look please post both sides of the coin, shot directly overhead (not at an angle) for best quality photos.

It looks like someone put 3 large cents in a hydraulic press. This was the middle one.
