I got this in an auction lot, it came with a silver locket, an old working silver compass fob, a silver mounted old penny and some other nice little pieces. I cannot i.d. the man on it or even begin to verify the age. On the side it has an eagle, the man has a high collar. The back of this pendant/commemorative coin/medal is pushed inwards(not flat)and I'm inclined to think it's brass. Again any help would be appreciated. Kind Regards Alexander.
I can't tell you anything about it, but the shape of that is really unique! With that hanger I'm guessing it was meant to be worn as a decorative piece?
Yeah I think it was definitely a pendant, but I've never seen anything like it myself. I even took to an antique appraisers who didn't recognise it, he just said what I thought about it maybe being Autro-Prussian. Very interesting indeed.
Yeah you're totally correct, what an odd piece to end up with . Sorry for late reply, tried to email you-but I'm not allowed :(. The compass is definitely the crown piece of this lot. What an oddity. Thank-you very much.
