Pics aren't clear but b/c of the thickness of lettering in some places I'd like to say don't lose it :-)

This is my 1917 DDO which I tried to take a pic to resemble yours from the same distance. I do agree copper coins and the Lincoln Cent resource have good close ups...something I'm not renowned for lol!

I think it might be. I'm seeing some separation on the first "1" and the "7"; as well as extra thickness on the other numerals not attributed to just wear.

John actually copper coins shows exactly what I see and I don't know why no one else is seeing. Look close at the end of the nine where it curls in. If you can blow up the already blown pic you will see the split as well as the bottom of the one

What I'm seeing on Mikes' coin is circulation flattening. If it were a doubled die, you probably couldn't tell now. But something I've noticed on the DDO and Mikes' coin is that side by side you see something different in consistency:

Note the 7. The top is as wide as thick as the DDO, but the vertical is wider than the DDO. To me a clear case of circulation wear/flattening. Also as others mentioned the lack of doubling on other devices would rule it out as coming from the die identified as 1917P-1DO-001

Thanks coop for putting the pics together like that now if you look you can see the nines are split the same. I am 100% sure based on that. Wish I could do that stuff but I'm lucky I can download pictures on this stupid ipad. Also on the reverse there is a bar type marker between the first you and n and across the inside of the second you which I have seen on other examples. Thanks for all the help guys

I'm seeing a line right where it should be on the upper part of the 7 and also the lower loop of the 9 (very faint)... As infrequently as I would disagree with Coop and John, I think this *is* a DDO.
