Thanks All. Ya I am very fortunate I have two dealers that are 1st class and honest guys here in town. I went over at lunch to get some pix of the 1927D but they just shipped it about an hour before I got there to NGC. I'll inquire about the history of it here in about a 1/2 hour, since I am going over to sell some silver builion to him.

Just out of curiosity, how does one ship a $500,000 coin. USPS Registered, FedEx Insured, Personal Courier, Trusted Space Aliens, ....?

I'll agree that it's an addiction, and that 1895 at Berk's is a really nice coin for the grade. If I had the dough, I would be all over the 27-D because it's a great price.

you can definately bet it won't sit in his case very long as soon as the story gets out that it is there. I know of atleast 5 right off the top of my head that would fly to his shop right now and pay him a deposit sight unseen

I too am jealous of your coin shop. Where is it? As big an area as Chicago is there is just no such thing. To big and they never get to know you. Just to many people. Our biggest coin shop is that stupid Harlan Berk downtown and they would steal your wallet with one hand and sell you a cleaned coin with the other.

Carl, I'm from the Chicago area also. Are there any places that your would recommended? I've just recently got back into coin collecting from a 5-6 year break and would like to find some places that are decent.

just to think being able to walk into HJB and pick up my coins instead of having to wait for them to get here in the mail, heaven I tell ya, heaven

I was told it went out by Fed Ex when I went back over to take pictures the following day.
We have 4 good shops within 10 miles of each other here in KY. I walked over to HJB during spring break when I took my son up to Chicago. I have to admit it was pricey!
