I have a renniks 20th edition it list a 1840 to 43 colonial bank note $17500 and not like coins in grades fine to gem so if you had one in average condition how would you value it as they only say unissued or proof

A good $9000-13000 would be my estimate pending on how the auction room feels when it comes up.

I've got the 21st edition Macca's and that lists these notes and has values for proofs and circulated notes.

Interestingly the value listed for circulated (fine) notes is 2 - 3 times the value of a proof note. Presumably that is because people didn't collect bank notes in those days so very few of the circulating ones survived.

Don't take any notice of the prices though. These notes sell at a fraction of the listed values.
