G'Day, Can someone give me a idea how this coin would grade. I would grade it at least Fine, but I don't know how the discolouring will affect the grade.I'm sorry about the photo's, I only have a cheap camera.

to CCF by the way. Now the toning is not a problem in the slightest and is quite pleasant. Grade wise from the photos I would be around good Fine to a maximum of Very Fine clearer photo's would allow me to place it more accurately. Otherwise a pleasant coin.

Thanks for the reply, the photo's are as good as I can get at the moment. Need to practice, though the camera may not be helping.

Anytime at the moment till better photos can be used for a more accurate grading just assume that it is the middle grade of my estimate being aVF. Others may be along soon to give their opinion on it as well which may be more accurate than mine.

Good photos I'd go VF as the grade tho the centre diamond is a little bit of a worry for the grade the rest of the coin makes up for it and with no real rim damage it fulfills the guideline for the grade so I'll stick by the VF grading

Thanks, thats better then I expected. I tend to be a bit conservative.

If agree with VF but that toning is not nice IMO. There also seems to be alot of verdigris on the obverse.

Put it in a container with fresh cooking oil for about a week, pull it out and give it a wipe. Repeat this over the next 3-4 weeks until completely gone. Oil will soften the verdigris which will wipe off. Oil is also good for stopping oxygen getting to the verdigris which is needed for the growth of verdigris.

You could try oiling it but to be honest its not worth it. Its a low value coin and if you want a similar grade coin with no issues its not going to cost you very much.
