Thanks everyone! Yeah, I'll let y'all know where it is.
The old safe was a cannonball safe, which is inside the lobby of the bank's current location. I'm looking for pictures that have Grandaddy and the old safe. Those that remember it say they think it was a dark green, maybe with gold lettering. As of now, someone has painted it an ugly brown. I asked the bank if they still had the combo to the safe, and they said yes. Would be a dream to have it back in my shop.

If that flooring is even remotely possible to save, I would HIGHLY recommend a good but light scuffing and some floor wax. That floor will set the tone of your new shop. Cannot buy anything like that now.
Congrats...and good luck!!

Not sure why you keep the location secret. Could get lots of our buisness is nearby. And don't forget bars for the windows.

I completely agree that the floor would be awesome if you are able to keep it in tact! Congratulations on this wonderful new endeavor.

Great story, great history, and good luck.
Keep us updated and maybe let us know where you are.
Maybe a "penny floor" is in order.

Great location, now go make some sales. You are willing to actually part with some coins? Hope it works out.

Hey all!! Things are moving along. I can't explain how busy I am. Insanity. The penny floor is a great idea. I had actually started to amass the pennies to make that happen, gunning for all copper and no zinc. However, I came up with a cheaper and perhaps cooler alternative. I'm in the process of finding the right epoxy and urethane to do what I want with the floor. The tiles that you see in the photo are made of asbestos!! However, I was thinking of perhaps doing a strip of pennies around the room on the wall, just under the wainscot. Could make cool designs with browns and UNCs. The location of my shop isn't a secret, but I don't want to publicize its location either until it is ready. If curiosity is killing you, check out where my photos are hosted! So here are three more pictures. This is the store front after the walls were mudded, taped, and prepped for texture and paint.

Coming along!! I think it would be fun to donate pennies to your wall. Any chance you would accept them? Would be awesome knowing we helped....
