Can anyone tell me the difference between:

پنکه
پنج

The upper word is found on a 5 afghani coin, but translates to 'fan' according to google translate. The lower word means 'five', like the nominal value. Am I reading the coin incorrectly or is there a linguistic explanation. I know google translate isn't perfect, but it is the best I've got...
