People have heard and no doubt focused on the new postal rate for Canada that comes into effect on March 31 ($0.63 to $0.85).

But the international and US rates are enough to make you Go Postal!

The basic US rate only goes from $1.10 to $1.20--not bad. But add a few coins to your package and the 200g to 500g rate goes from $7.60 to $10.30.

The international price goes from $4.36 to $5.90 for a lousy 100g.

The other thing that they are changing....at least I think it is a change....is that they will now charge about 14% more for using stamps rather than using metered postage. So the game of using old stamps to mail things out has just got quite a bit more expensive. It will get pretty impractical to use old stamps for anything other than Canadian mailings--there just wont be space on the envelopes.

Yeah, it's disgraceful. Rates already had Canadian-based sellers at a disadvantage.
