Ive been collecting these for about four years, both the one and Three Cent pieces. There are 14 recognized one cent varieties...with at least 50-60% being the common 6-I. Yes, they are tricky to tell apart but once you know the diagnostics...the World opens. So...I scan ebay often, because every so often one of the RARE varieties turns up. And then it happens. This coin is variety 3-G, which has been rated from R8 to high R6. Auction records for CORRECTLY attributed 3-Gs are non existent. ••••••. Enjoy! 1837 Feuchtwanger Cent Variety 3-G ANACS XF40.

I concur with the attribution, and I have it as an R-6.

Any idea where I can find good images of revs C and F?

Here's mine, also from ebay...

Yours is a real beauty for the type, of course, and mine has quite a bit more wear, and the reverse die was quite deteriorated.

Actually even the John Ford collection didn't contain one much better than mine, so when this one came up on ebay unidentified as to type, I snapped it up (from a new seller who tried to bill me twice and failed to ship for about a month).

There is one really high grade 3-G example in a museum collection but good looking ones are really tough.

Nice find, Ambro51!

Graded XF but a weak strike, sold in 2004 for $690.00 against a $120.00 start.

My other 3-G has a few surface issues and a cracked planchet. As to the 4-F, I had the pleasure of holding Two of them a few years ago. Another experienced collector I know owns these, and recently cherrypicked another off ebay. Images are as scarce as the coins. Koutserous has updated his paper recently and included an image of the F reverse and also of the extremely elusive C.
