OBV1 Still pointing between denticles. I have never seen a 1870 OBV2 circulation strike, I don't believe they exist. All have been misattributed, same goes for 1872 and 1871H OBV1.

Hi DBM, Thank's for your input, I just want to understand, it is not obvious to me I just found these pictures of this 25 cent in 1870 obv 2 on the website here: http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...otIdNo=11363it is a obv2 and I of Gratia points in the same direction as in the second pieces I put in the site. this is true or there is a difference thank you for helping me to understand.

It is not an OBV2, Heritage Auctions made an error.

There is a difference in your 2 coins. Take a look at the curl of the upper lip to nose. Heritage did make an error but you appear to have 2 different coins in your posts. just my opinion.

All three are OBV1 There are many reasons why they can appear slightly different, but none of them are the creation of a new obverse matrix.
