I have this 13 mm silver coin with no history. I cannot find any reference anywhere. Perhaps I am not looking in the right places. Can anyone help me with their ideas of what this coin may be? I have pictures of the obverse and the reverse (but I cannot figure out which is which.

It looks like it is meant to be a styca or a sceat. Possibly of Aethelred II, moneyer Alghere. Like this one:

However yours doesn't look quite the same and I think it's a bit big .. plus AFAIK stycas are bronze not silver.

Hmm .. I think you need an expert here, though my feeling is that this is perhaps a modern replica.

Thanks, but there is a discrepancy. The weight of the replica is given as 2 gm and the weight of my coin is 1.18 gm (checked)?
