hi guys, I've got a ptolemy coin I can't pin down.
it's in rough shape, but based of the zeus, what I can see of hte eagle's head, wing, position, and the fields, I though I could pull of an i'd...but having trouble.

25 mm
8.1 g

the coin is on a thin flan, which seems to be the going rate for the late ptolemy coins (along with the off strike).
the closest thing I can find is an sv 1715,but those coins are much smaller than these (about 14 mm or so). doesn't seem to be an exact match with anything listed in svoronos.

(im looking here...greak place for ptolemy coins

very similar to this coin listed as sv 1715, but I think this is misattributed.

any ideas?

Chris, this is going to be a tough one. I'm thinking it might be Ptolemy II, but that's just a guess on my part.

thanks for the input ski, I went back and looked at the ptolemy ii coins and didn't find a match. I think this one is may be unlisted, but I'm still thinking it's a late ptolemy coin based on weight.

Chris, if you tilt the coin, are there any other details on the reverse that don't show up in the photo?
