The detector has been sat idle for far too long and after seeing some of the stuff that has been coming up of late and having the afternoon spare, I went to a field that I have permission on and glad I did.
I know this is not the best in the World but it's a first for me and I am well chuffed with it!
I didn't realise how tiny these coins are, just over a gram in weight and measures 13.5 mm.

Should be going to Manchester for a meeting tomorrow but throwing a sickie and going back to the field again for a full day. Taking the Minelab this time, found that with fairly low end Cscope. I won't sleep tonight now, lol.

Very nice find! Those of us who are metal detectorists who like in the USA can only dream of finds like this.

Wow!
Excellent find Kev!

You know that the Siliqua was often clipped for the Silver so it is not uncommon to find them with the vital legends and mintmark missing.

Your example, of Honorius, has the legends but the mintmark is just about gone.

Below is an example from the Milan mint:

Very nice and as noted, clipped but not to the extreme. Got nice detail on it and a full legend - and not broken. These things go for so much on ebay because they apparently have a tendency to fall apart from crystalisation and many were clipped to nothing more than a bust.
