Having "gifted" virtually my entire collection to my family I am now reduced to circulation finds to become my current collection. The new job has exposed me to multiple cash drawers and I find wheat cents often. These penny's we're where I started and I have been filling a folder with finds bringing back memories of the 60's. Best find: 1906 Indian cent and 1949 d AU Lincoln. Coin collecting is a lifetime passion, a divorce is not going to stop me.

muddler, Very sorry to hear that was the only solution you could follow. But on the otherhand, there is nothing more refreshing and exhilarating than starting over. Your smarter, more informed, you won't make beginner mistakes that will cost you money. And you now know what you like to focus on. The best part is, you can now relax and collect without disapproving eyes looking over your shoulder. Just remember and learn, marriage is for youngsters, not for oldsters like us. No more marriages

Bummer. If you are at ground zero get a box of cents and nickels and some Whitman folders even though you know Albums are best and work your way back up. I remember when I was a kid and I got my first Buffalo nickel and Mercury dime and reading the RedBook over and over and dreaming of owning a Bust half or Seated dollar. Now that I have a complete 7070 for a few years the thrill is gone. I guess if I lost all of my coins or they got ripped off I might enjoy the challenge again to complete some sets. Good luck.

May not all be lost. So much depends on who or what your family is. After all is settled, they may just give you everything back. However, if you trust them, nothing is really lost since you now have lots of coin collectors in your family. At a coin show a dealer's assistant went through an almost divorse. To prevent her from getting anything he had this dealer sell off almost everything. Then they get back together again. To late though since so much was sold off. Yet I wonder if he learned anything. Divorses are always something to wonder about when you have a collection of anything worth money.
