So I went by the LCS to yak with the owner (a LOT of posts start like this...) and made the mistake of wandering over to the classic dollar case. If he had had any MS or PF 69 Ikes I may never had made it there. But he didn't, so I did. Well, after I got done drooling over the chopped Trades he had, I saw this lady and had to snag her. Great price on a great looking coin. And as I didn't have a 28... I think she will go F2 when I eventually send her in. What say you folks?

Not really knowledgeable on grading but that coin looks pretty cool to me and from what I've seen before your grade is probably close.

It's always a tough call on lowball silver dollars as wear patterns tend to vary on these big chunky silver discs. However, I would have to agree with you on F2. Congrats on filling a hole in your collection.

This coin is every bit the equal(?!) of a PCGS FR02 that sold at Heritage in December 2012.

Ag3 was my first impression though the super sized picture of it shows every little detail left. Could very well be a 2 looking at it life sized

Far too much detail gone on the motto, 1 gone on the date, dollar half gone, rims non existent. .. this is the first time I am anything against raising the grade on one of my coins. LoL
And if it were to pull an AG3, then I might feel guilty about the deal I got... might. ;-)

You'll get your number out of it, and from an investment standpoint you ought to. Lowballing started with Morgans, and many of those participants are going to turn their attention to Peace dollars. Some already have. Peace dollars are a diabolical series to lowball, with the mint mark so close to the rim. A real challenge that's going to attract just because of the difficulty; PCGS isn't going to slab a coin whose mint is indeterminate. P01 is tough. PCGS 8 in FR-02, 1 in P01.

I do not plan on selling her anytime soon. She will head to ANACS with an 8 reals piece I need authenticated and see what she gets.

I would say AG-3 but hey even if it does slab as an AG-3 and not FR-2 you will still be able to get some good money out of it cause if I'm a collector and I want a low end (under G-4) 1928 Peace dollar --- that's like finding an 1885-CC Morgan or a 1950-D Jefferson nickel or a 1931-S Lincoln Cent --- the grade itself is rare and that tends to attract $$$$ and often more than it should.
