The edge tarnish on a 40% JFK is a bit weird sometimes, I have one that looks almost black on one side of the edge and like silvery-coppery on the other.
After 40+ years rolling around in pockets you'd look a little weird too
the JFK half was 40% from 1965 to 1970, the 1971's have the sandwich look with solid copper in the middle.
