Does anyone know if RCM is planning on issuing a regular loonie later this year or will the lucky loonie be the only one? I know back in 2012 there were only 5 million lucky loonies issues and over 100 million regular ones.

Not sure about the 2014 releases, however, I have yet to come across a 2012 regular loonie in circulation without the security features. I have a couple of rolls I bought from the boutique but that is the only ones I've seen. That was the year of the accident!

Not sure.. but I've gone to the mint to pick up some lucky loonies... and on both occasions all the loonies have already had surface scratches in the EXACT same spot..

Two small scratches just 11 o'clock to the loon's head.. I would have to think it's part of the machining

I had to buy the two I have outside of sets (2012 old). I guess it would depend on the mintage of the Lucky 2014. 2014 might be a weird year for dollars with all the commemorative sets.

For all the previous Olympic years, the Mint issued a regular loon and a lucky Olympic loon.

There is a regular loon in the 2014 un-circulated set, so I would think they will be coming out.
