The coins all arrived. Pretty alright lot. Obviously, the best coinw as the Carausius and it really came through and does require its own thread.

Unlisted bust. There are only 2 half length busts listed for Carausius:

Holding Spear and shield
Holding Sceptre

Its not clear what he's holding here, but he is throwing the Imperatorial Gesture which is certainly of note. You can tell its not just an erased spear from the stripped patina because all 5 fingers are visible.

The reverse shows MONETA. This is also not listed with any half length bust, nor is Carausius listed as havign a bust giving the Imperatorial Gesture bar Jugate busts facing left.

Other Carausian coins: One fair bust with an obfuscated doulbe strike at 90 degree rotation (patina would very much help there) and non pax reverse, the other mostly gone, but shows the shape of the die nicely.

Well, he certainly hasnt got anything in his right hand and that is definitely the imperatorial gesture, but the other hand is questionable. I'm thinking a sceptre or an ealge tipped sceptre. It also looks like he could be holding a globe, which would makethe vertical line Victory.

If only it had its patina. I've been working on the legend and the ID.

First off, it isn't listed, at all. Reverse is MONETA AVG, as before, obverse reads IMP...CARAVS...AVG, most likely IMP CARAVSIVS PF AVG, which would link it to the halfbust obverse with a sceptre, only known with the Sol/Quadriga reverse. I'm trying to find a picture of the type so I can see if its the bust type I have here muled with Moneta.
