What could this be? To me, it looks as though part of the motto " IN GO " is stamped in a mirrored reverse on the rim of this penny. I don't have the tools to try and do an over lay. to check dimensions and don't know if this is even possible.

Any thoughts?

If it is, is there any value in this type of error?

Thanks

It appears mirrored and not like it was struck from a die. If the devices are incuse, it maybe transferred from another coin as damage. If it is raised, it might need a second look. Hard to tell from the images.

I know the pictures are not the greatest, sorry.

The marks are Not raised. The thing is, they are deep and crisp and there are No other marks on the coin, (like the rim of another coin)

I placed another coin on top of this one to get a general idea to where there might be damage transferred and see nothing.

I just find it interesting that that transfer can happen that deeply and cleanly without other noticeable damage to the coin.

I will keep it I believe, would just like to know if anyone has an idea how this could happen and if they think it's as neat as I do.

I can try to get more pics if if you think that would help as well.

Thanks
