Hello guys, sorry no pics I was doing some studying on rare varieties and came across this one that is considered to be truly an extremely rare type penny so I was looking to see if there was a premium that is not posted or determined as of yet..so I'm checking in with my Community who might have knowledge on this 1971 S rare variety.

Awesome is that the one with re-engraved bow tie & steps
Is it 1971-S odv-28 (re-engraved bow tie) with rdv-008 or the rdv-002

Yes that's the one I'm talking about. Also it should have the the memorial steps on the right looking real sharp as if extra die was used.

Thats the rdv-008 one - When I tried to look for that one also about a week ago but I stopped all the bowties looked different to me I couldnt figure out what the re-engraved one should look like?
Maybe someone got a good reference picture
I got 3 uncir 1971-s rolls I need to search also.

I do have the coin, no question about it yet I'm trying to find out what is the premium before I send it off to be graded. Its gorgeous I wish my sister didn't have my camera so I could post maybe ms 64 or 65 , I am just at a stand still at the moment.

it a more pronounced set of steps on the right side middle of the memorial building to be RDV-008. the bowtie I believe is more square

Your absolutely correct and also the designers Signature must match that variety and mine matches all 3 points of interest to the fullest.

Awesome would love to see it when you get your camera back.
What did you use a guide to judge yours against?
What does the designers signature need to look like I didnt see that mentioned when I did my research.
Was confusing as most of the bow ties and signatures looked extremely different.
I see some skinny ones, a few away from stairs and few touching stairs?

The FG looks faint and the F almost looks as if its melted and no sharpness. Look at memorial FG for that kind.

If I found a 1971 S odv-028/ rdv-008 I would send it off in a heart beat. Where did you get the info about the designer,s initials?
