Hey all! This is the description from Wildwinds:

"*AAH* Diocletian AE Ant "Jupiter" Diocletian AD 284-305 AE
Antoninianus Obv: IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG - Radiate bust right, draped and cuirassed. Rev: CLEMENTIA TEMP - Emperor standing right holding scepter and receiving victory on a globe from Jupiter. Exe: XXI / (gamma) Siscia mint: AD 288 = RIC Vii, 252, page 247 14May04)4.15g."

I don't know how to go from here, I've searched the forums and done a lot of searches but cannot even find out if it is rare or common. Thanks guys!

Here is the pic btw (from WW) http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/ric/...RIC_0252.jpg

I would assume it is common. If it says it is rare, I would take it with a pinch of salt. Since RIC was compiled millions of coins have been dug up. If I find a coin that is labelled "Rare" I record it on the label as such, but it is more as a curiosity than a fact.

Interesting type, some debate as to its true meaning is apparent. I couldnt find the listing for it, but the RIC volume should list a rarity (though these arent of much use these days and the books arent easy to get a hold of - perhaps you could find an ebook copy)

Also of note, RIC VII 252 isn't actually Diocletian, it refers to a coin of Constantine I. This is RIC V 252 - perhaps those lower case Is are the chapter.

Wow, so even WW didn't have things right, thanks Ben.

Thanks pish, I guess when I read about RIC and how its the 'largest compendium of recorded coins' also meant they were accurate. So, knowing that, is it same to assume that I should look out for other people selling on forvm and vcoins as well as ebay to get an accurate assessment to some of my better coins?

RIC Vii means it is part 2 as there are two volumes of RIC V. It is on page 246 and rated as common. I would also say this bust is actually seen from the rear, but RIC V doesn't make that distinction.
