It was $1 he paid. One of my favorite stories.

Favorite part....
"Cucci agreed, so Martin sent it in for grading and authentication. On Feb. 23, the coin arrived back from PCGS. Martin called Garry at home.

"Are you sitting down?" John asked Cucci.

So he sat down. "I am now."

"The coin came back real and is graded a very high Mint State 64 by PCGS. I estimate it's worth between $100,000 to $115,000," Martin told him."
You sitting down? epic nice.

Darn good looking coins! I was so excited at just the thought of seeing one up front. Maybe one of the owners will exhibit one of these coins someday soon (Please!) I agree it is a great conversation piece. I haven't ever seen a fake before up close either.
