I've got another one for those who like to help out. It's my 1859 one cent piece that has a hole right after the word Regina. From the regular ones, it should have just a small dot there, but this one has a hole about half way through the coin and what would appear to be copper surrounding the hole.

I cant find this as a variety. Does anyone have and experience with this or seen this before. As it's probably PMD, any idea why someone would do that to this coin?

Also, the Obverse is rotated about 15 degrees. Is that normal for these coins?

Thanks

The hole is PMD post mint damage. Pretty common on this series. Otherwise your coin looks pretty nice. Can you post reverse photos also? I may be able to help you ID the die pair. ed

I'd say someone might have tried to make a pendant out of it but the hole is in the wrong place. It is definitely PMD though.

yup, that's the very common, half finished, "my dad caught me drilling a hole in his coin collection again" variety.
