Results of selling TONED ikes on ebay.

This info is in the spirit of Sharing with my CCF brethren

================================

Coin 1 -- Auction listed at 9.99 -- 5 bids sold for $12.49

Coin 2 -- Auction listed at $9.99 - I bid sold at $9.99

Coin 3 â€" Auction listed at 6.99 -- 3 bids sold at $8.00

Coin 4 -- Auction listed at $9.99 -- 1 bid BIN at $13.99 <===

Coin 5 -- Auction listed at $9.99 1 bid BIN at 17.99 <===

Note coin 5 sold in 4-5 hours after listing<===

Bringing to the front the issue of IKE toned coins. Please note that only one coin sold at the beginning start price ... coin 2

Please note, I considered this only a test run to sample the market, on the characteristic value of these toned coins.
From memory, I may have listed 8, maybe 9 coins in the run. All I was doing was to test the market on the toned coins I have on hand. I do not now have any toned up on ebay being too busy getting my education here on CCF ... to mess with ebay. The plan for ebay is to keep raising prices until people stop buying, then back off a notch, or two.

Keeping in mind these coins have ZERO numismatic value.

$62.46 Gross ... for a $5.00 investment

Had free shipping on 2 -- $2.95 shipping on 3 coins.
After (net) postage cost, --after ebay fees -- after paypal fees -- after cost of coins....

A small (but emotionally rewarding) (APPOX) $10 per coin.

For my freinds here on CCF even if you can't buy at face ... You CAN sell at a nice profit ... if you market what you HAVE.

Take your profits to invest back into your hobby coins.

Heavens ... I love this site.

I wouldn't say this...

you proved there is a numismatic value to these coins for someone. A coin's value is what someone will pay.

Nice job, by the way.

Some one ask for a picture one of the ikes, on this thread.

This one is the one that sold for $17.99 plus $2.95 shipping.

Toning and picture taking is difficult for me and my 10 year old camera.

When I show pictures on ebay ... I show 8-10 picture, some being LESS toned. Some times I shoot as many as 45-50 shots to get the best different TONE differences. All my costumers gave me 100% ratings. Some feed back was awesome

THis was my LEAD picture to get interested costumer to open my ad. Then they get to see 8-10 more shots... to make up their mind.

You see the 2nd coin in this shot. I used a "CAMEO" so they could see the differance between TONE and mirror white.
