...when you polish off all the minted surface?
The only tool that can make a "red Unc" coin...is a coin die.

Have a look at the seller's hall of shame.

One of the casualties of a power buffer.

This is certainly a proof cent. In fact, most of his coins are proof. I mean, nobody in their right mind would actually buff a coin to look like that....

Polish the die, or polish the coin--same difference.
But perhaps they'll sell...if ebay doesn't pull them.

To answer your question, IMO nope.
Altered TOO much.
Won't even get into a DETAILS or Genuine slab.
I think it would come back body bagged.

And look at the feedback--100%, including some really nasty polished IHCs.
Either people just don't know about grading--or they won't admit they got taken.
Darn it! I can't contact/inform buyers anymore of these frauds!

So last night I reported 10 of those polished IHCs...I just hate to see people shell out good $ for junk!
ebay's response:

I have sent your report to the Coin Community Watch group for their review. If I hear back from them that the coins are as you state, they will be removed from the site and appropriate action taken on the account.
I'm getting more hopeful this is gonna leave a mark.
