I read there are a couple different die cracks on this coin. So I was looking to see if I saw some and I noticed this. I looked at a few other coins and didn't see it there on them.

Thank You, it has been the death of me to understand how to get that close...

It is a 1960 Lincoln Memorial.

Cobia,

Can you show a clearer image? I can't tell what part of the coin this is.

Your REAL closeups show nothing to me that's recognizable.
The pic with most of the date showing could be of a die crack.
Or a lamination.
I would have expected that die crack to go through the rim which is why I mentioned the other possibility.

I've got a 1960-D 5,000 count bag that was mint sealed and some of the coins look like they have a mild lamination issue. I'd have to gess that the numbers are close to 500 to 1,000 of them are that way.

The mint could have easly had a bad batch of copper that year, and it got spread through the mints, at least Denver and Philly.

Getting up close and personal is good, but honestly? The Third Party Grading services rarely use magnification above 7x. Anything higher than that is considered a minor issue. High magnification is good for Doubled Dies and RPM's and maybe to see some markers for coins with signification values attached. Thats all I use mine for. I typically hover around 5-20x, and it keeps me from going blind, especially after the last three months of 2013 where my son and I did over 35,000 mint LMC's.
