Hello all, I have a question about the pennies that are tested for new dies at the mint and these are usually made of pewter and I would like to know are they a error if found in circulation ?
The US Mint does not use pewter for testing purposes. If you found a cent that looks like dull pewter, it is almost certainly a cent that has been stripped of copper plating post-mint.
