I recognise the first imagery from somewhere, I think it may be mayan. I know that's not very helpful, but I'm sure the mayans used that symbolism. I will keep looking for an answer. I think it's great that you have kept the coins all this time, fond memories are held with them.

Well my mayan theory is out the window, they didn't use coins. Aztec maybe...the search continues :D

The first image looks similar to where Mexico got the design for their 1981 silver peso, but that's maya influence.

I was thinking, and what if it's not a coin? What if it's some sort of old token? Do you have any local museums? They might be able to better understand this piece. Please let me know if you find out where it's from and what it is. I really feel it's Mayan, but as they had no coins I'm stumped.

One of my friends that collects coins from Colombia saw this coin recently (?) but was not able to identify it .As my father used to travel to many countries all around the world, not necessarily the coin has to be from Latin america.First I thought it was some kind of biblical coin, but I never recognized it in the many web sites that has biblical coins.A token ? I don't know...when you have it in your hand it looks like a coin and not a token ...but who knows...that's the reason why I am asking for an ID....

When I say it might be not a coin, I don't mean a run of the mill token. I mean something interesting and seemingly rare by the accounts that I cannot find it anywhere at the moment. I think a museum would help, because to me the first image looks similar to the Mexican peso I mentioned-and the shape of it is almost like a fossil. It may be an old artifact, token might of being the wrong term used. Never-the-less I'm intrigued with it, as I've seen the first image somewhere before...maybe India. I'm fascinated with the ancients, and that's where I feel I've seen this coin in some ancient symbolism-but I just can't put my finger on it.

I hope that the pictures included ,that shows the relative size of it, can help to ID this "coin" ,old token....

Yeah that looks loads different, the first image especially. I think I saw a similar coin earlier Prutah, but which one I'm unsure. The first pick to me at first looked like a person in a circle not a jug lol.

I now have a feeling it is a bronze prutah, or coin from around that time. Similar to the mite coin, the main thing throwing me off is the secondary image-I can't find a suitable match on that.
