Howdy an Hi to all, Just wanting some info from people that I feel know more about this stuff than I do. Yesterday I got some coins from APMEX. Now I know that coins that have errors on them can be valued a little different than the norm, this one 1/4 oz coin is different from the others, it don't have the engraver's intinals on it and the shield that Lady LIberty is holding is smaller that the others, and the coin is just all-together different the letters are even sharper than the other coins. I'm guessing that is was from a different batch of coins. now this being a bullion coins and are not leagel tender. What I would like to know from you'all is this any kind of a collectors coin or just a run of the meal Bullion coin? So if you'all would give me your thoughts on this I would be'a thanking you..thanks Tired Warror.. I have tried to post some Pictures but I can not get it to work. I have tried changing sizes with the Optimizer just can't tell if I'm doing it correctely...

I'm guessing that there is nothing special with the coin and I would consider it to be just bullion. Try checking ebay to see if anyone is trying to sell a coin like that and see what price they got. I could be wrong so we will see what others think.

people buy bullion for it's metal content. I doubt
it'll fetch a premium?

I have heard that the small denomination silver bullion coins carry a slightly larger premium over spot same as the smaller denomination gold pieces but its up to the bullion store who is buying or selling

You can sign up for Photobucket which is very great.

I'd only pay melt value for bullion silver.
So they probably don't carry a premium even with that mistake.

Probably from a different batch of silver rounds...I would say no premium.

I would also suggest not getting into fractional silver. The premium you pay is WAAAY out of line for a silver round...like around $6/ounce more than a 1 ounce round

Silver is not that expensive that you have to buy less than a ounce.

thanks guys for the feedback, the only reason I got those fractional coins are to make some gifts for my niece for her birthday, put it in a 20 dollar bezel and makes a real nice gift...what silver I have is in bars or 1oz coins..
